US prosecutor: A man steals over $37 million worth of cryptocurrency from nearly 600 victims
According to The Block, the US Attorney's Office has stated that an Indiana man has admitted to committing the crime of "cyber intrusion" and has stolen over $37 million worth of cryptocurrency from nearly 600 victims. According to court documents, in February 2022, the man was involved in a cyber intrusion involving an investment holding company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The document also states that the man was accused of stealing personal information and then robbed hundreds of victims. The stolen cryptocurrency was subsequently transferred to different locations around the world, including multiple hybrid services and gambling websites, to conceal his identity and hide the virtual currency.
